Programs & Services

Economic Development is Community Development

The purposeful mix of programs and projects at the EDC is designed to provide entrepreneurs, small businesses, large firms and our partner organizations with comprehensive and innovative services that support their growth and the strength and diversity of our local economy.

In this section, you will find information about current projects and programs our staff works on to spur community development in Thurston County.

In fiscal year 2014, PTAC has helped Washington-based businesses to secure over $300 million in prime and subcontract awards.

Thurston Energy

Thurston Energy works to providing Thurston County residents and businesses with the means to save money and energy. Thurston Energy provides energy use evaluation services and recommendations for energy-saving measures in both homes and businesses.

By gathering the best discounts, rebates, financing and tax incentives, our exceptional program is designed to help homeowners and businesses increase rates of return on their energy efficiency investments.

Thurston Asset Building Coalition

The Thurston Asset Building Coalition connects our community resources to create opportunities for people with limited incomes to become more financially stable.

Workforce Development

Our Workforce Development Program coordinates with public and private partners to create a strong workforce system in the county and region.

The Thurston EDC has a strong commitment to support service members as they transition out of the military and into the local civilian workforce. We have several programs that provide entrepreneurial support and skills training to soldiers while they are in the process of transitioning.
